Eddy Wullink (born in Oldenzaal, the Netherlands, 1951) used to work in mental health care and in social welfare for the elderly.
He has worked as an artist since 1995. He has mainly taught himself, but has taken lessons at an Art Centre, as well.
For some years Eddy Wullink combined his art with his job in the arts department of the Central Public Library in the city of Groningen.

Wullink’s work ranges from two-dimensional to three-dimensional work in diverse proportions, using a great variety of materials and techniques.
People are central to most of his work, as he is interested in how people present themselves in relation to each other, how they see themselves, coming closer or keeping their distance, showing a primary or a secondary disposition.

Wullink’s work has been called naïve as he uses mainly primary colours and strives to keep his figurative forms primitive.
The same principles are found in his abstract work.

 

Eddy Wullink (Oldenzaal 1951) war tätig in der geistigen Gesundheitsfürsorge und in der Senioren-Sozialfürsorge. Seit 1995 beschäftigt er sich mit bildender Kunst. Mehrere Jahre lang kombinierte er seine Tätigkeit als schaffender Künstler mit den Aufgaben eines Mitarbeiters der öffentlichen Bibliothek von Groningen. Obwohl er Stunden bei einem Zentrum für Künste genommen hat,kann man ihn als Autodidakt bezeichnen.

Seine Werke variieren von dreidimensional bis hin zur ebenen Fläche, und von groβ bis klein.

Er macht Gebrauch von unterschiedlichen Materialen und Techniken. In einem Teil seiner Werke steht der Mensch im Mittelpunkt. Eddys Interesse richtet sich darauf, wie Personen sich untereinander manifestieren, wie sie sich selbst sehen, ob sie sich einander nähern oder auf Distanz bleiben, ob sie primär oder sekundär eingestellt sind. Er gebraucht vor allem Grundfarben und versucht figurative Formen primitiv zu halten. Man bezeichnet seine Werke als naiv. In den abstrakten Werken findet man dieselben Ausgangspunkte.

En étant en grande partie auto-didact, il a pris aussi des cours dans un centre d'art. Depuis quelques années, Eddy Wullink a combiné son art avec son travail en étant employé de l'art à la Bibliotheque Publique à Groningen.

Après un periode initiale de travailler en trois dimensions, Wullink se concentre désormais uniquement sur la peinture sur une surface plane. Il utilise une grande variété de matériaux et des techniques.

Des personnes figurent en tant que sujet dans son travail. Son intérêt est concentré dans le comportement des gens par rapport aux autres, comment ils se voient eux-mêmes, comment ils se rapprochent ou se gardent la distance, montrant une disposition primaire ou secondaire.

Le travail de Wullink a été appelé primitive et naïf, comme il utilise des couleurs primaires et il s'efforce de maintenir ses formes figuratives primitive.

Desde 1995 él ha trabajado como artista. Es autodidacta pero también tomó clases en la academia de artes.
Durante unos años combinó arte y trabajo en el departamento de arte en la Biblioteca Pública Central de Groningen.

Wullink’s tiene un arte muy diverso bidimensional y tridimensional usando diferentes materiales y técnicas. Particularmente tiene interés sus cuadros en serie, collages y Arte figurativo. Utilizando especialmente la técnica de la perspectiva y usando colores primarios y ha demostrado que su arte figurativo queda primitivo y abstracto.
